that any JWs that got out of the religion, only to go back are sincere to the JW way of life now that they are "back in"? I mean, they?ve had a taste of what it?s like on the outside, and be it due to family pressure, their own lack of faith or fear of the ?wordly ways? they chose to go back, there was clearly a reason they left in the first place. How can they be living up to the ideals if they?ve already lived the life they are warned against so much? Won?t they leave again

Looking for advice
by PenSue ini am not a jw but i am a business manager and one of my employees is.
i want to be able to understand her better and be able to respect her choices but i struggle with certain issues such as sending holiday cards to company clients.
she won't do so because of her beliefs and the clients cannot be neglected so this of course creates added work to those who are already very busy.. i am unsure of when to separate religion from business and am confused about why it's ok for her to take the vacation days designated for christmas, yet she can't cater to the needs of the business.. i do not ask things of her that fall outside the scope of her position and because of the lengths we go through to provide concierge service for our clients, i find that her religion is an out for her participation.

In this day & age most businesses do send out "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holiday" cards. I haven't seen a "religious" Christmas card in the business world for awhile. Giving her something else to do will alleviate the problem, if she's a good employee. If all she's being asked to do is stuff the envelopes & mail them, it shouldn't be an issue. She doesn't have to sign them.

Everyone has great points. I have a 15 year old daughter, been a single mom to her since birth, she, at times takes care of me in ways I never would have dreamed. We have a very open relationship and it doesn't even bother her that I listen to the same music she does. One thing that she has that skipped me was the clean gene. She's VERY insistant on keeping her room & life clean, me? My dad still tells stories of how he had to get a shovel just to get into my room. There are moments where I would like to wring her neck, but all in all, keep it open and honest with her, try to see her points in life, let her vent without interjecting (where you can..very hard!) and be a mom. I have to say, I have a 3 year old boy as well, and I don't have a clue how I raised her alone. Without her me & my boy would be banging heads all the time. She takes him away when he's underfoot and she bathes him every night, little things like that. I got very lucky and couldn't be prouder. Pink hair & all.

Lonley: Same with us...he wasn't "practising" while we were together, and I never thought to question it. We were even engaged, which I thought happened too fast, and told him so, but he was insistant. My first clue however, is the man was CHARMING treated me wonderful, told me everything I wanted to hear. Towards the end however, when I realized he was getting back in, he started treating me the way "expected" of him. Now that the glasses are off and hindsight being 20/20 I saw the signs. He couldn't handle the "shunning" that came along with being with me, and went back with his tail between his legs. I wish I would have looked into this more before all of this, but I'm learning now! Perhaps Sherry would like to share her info with all of us??

What is "Pagan" anyways?...
by Hecklerboy inwitnesses love to use the word "pagan", but i think few really even know what the word means.
i think most think of the word pagan as referring to some satan worshiping cult or other strange religion.
they alway say they don't celebrate the holidays because of it pagan origins.

Hi Lonelymom & Welcome
I have a similar problem in that my ex went back to the JW's after being out for awhile and after we had a child, so I am now fighting him for our son's sanity. I am not a JW either so I feel for you. Stay on the board, you'll learn alot and get lots of support!
